Clinking beer glasses

After defeating the Hungarian revolution in 1849, Austrian generals clinked their beer glasses to celebrate their victory. Hungarians made a pledge not to clink glasses for 150 years when drinking beer. That period is over now, but most of the Hungarians still don’t clink beer glasses.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great All Round Team Great welcome Wonderful upgrade room with view of the castle and Chain bridge. Mini bar fridge in room silent , not like Holiday Inn in Prague, who uses those thing now? Dining staff for breakfast and dinner could not be more helpful. 28 March 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Danube view; unvergesslicher Blick Wir haben uns im Zimmer sehr wohlgefühlt. Die angekündigten Belästigungen wegen baulicher Arbeiten haben sich in Grenzen gehalten. 26 March 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, great value As an Ambassador member I always try to stay in an Intercontinental hotel when I travel for business or leisure. Our stay in Budapest was for a long weekend - lots to do and see in a few days and so location was important. You can't beat the location - next to the Chain Bridge, walking distance to so many sites, and public transportation. The facilities were clean and lovely, the staff helpful and happy, the room spacious and well appointed. Highly recommended! 26 March 2015
